Carl Malamud's latest online "public works" project -- public.resource.org -- presents a potential challenge to paid legal research services Thomson and LexisNexis. The activist's northern California-based group will make available all Supreme Court opinions dating back to the 1700s and all U.S. appellate court decisions dating back to 1950. Malamud wants "to see all federal case law downloadable in bulk" with no restrictions on its use. For the bulk download see bulk.resource.org/courts.gov.
